반면 지구력 테이프는 100% 종이 펄프를 사용하고 특수 표면처리 기술을 통해 생활 방수가 가능하다. OPP 테이프보다 강한 접착력을 가졌지만 지구와 인체에 무해한 친환경 핫멜트 접착제가 사용돼 배출 시 탄소량도 낮췄다.
오마이어스 관계자는 "시중에서 판매되는 저렴한 종이테이프는 대부분 중국에서 들어온 제품들로 친환경제품이라고 보기 어려울 뿐 더러 무겁고 접착력도 많이 떨어진다"며 "지구력 테이프는 생산설비를 모두 갖춘 국내 공장에서 자체 제작된다"고 했다.
특히 기존 종이테이프의 경우 무게가 무거워 텐션이 다소 부족하고 점착력이 떨어지는 현상이 발생하지만, 지구력 테이프는 종이 무게를 57g까지 줄여 비교적 얇고 밀도를 높여 품질을 향상시켰다는 설명이다.
